
Martin Loosemore is a Professor at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is a visiting Professor at University of Loughborough in the UK. In 2002,
Martin was a consultant to the Australian Royal Commission into the Building Industry, advising on international workplace reform and productivity and was subsequently called to provide evidence to the Federal Senate inquiry into the Building and Construction Industry Bill.
He was recently appointed by the Federal Government to the first of the Australian Federal Government‘s Innovation Councils – advising the minister on innovation and sustainability. Martin has worked with a wide range of major private and public sector organisations and NGOs in the UK, Australia, Asia and the Middle East. In association with Tsinghua University in China, he worked with the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee (BOCOG) to develop the risk and opportunity management system for delivery of the 2008 Beijing Olympic games facilities.
He has published over 150 articles and six international books in risk management, corporate social responsibility, innovation strategy, crisis management, occupational health and safety and human resource management. He has received numerous awards and prizes for his research which is used by many public sector, private sector and not-for-profit organizations around the world. Most recently he was invited to present the Utzon Lecture in Sydney.
